Abstract:
In this paperwork are presented some factors that affect to safety of “driver-motorcycle” system movement and some statistical indicators as the proof that this system is a common cause in traffic accidents. A mathematical model was created to simulate longitudinal dynamics of motorcycle.
Simulation researches were conducted for the following regimes of movement: acceleration- steady state -braking up to adhesion limits. Thereby, various solutions in motorcycle designing were observed, especially engine characteristics and braking system, experience of driver, parameters of transitional regimes of movement. It was designed and created an experimental motorcycle system.
Experiments were conducted on real roads with and also without other participants in traffic.
Simulation and experimental results for observed systems were compared and discussed.
Conclusions and some other directions of investigation for this researching segment were presented.
